Job Description
Directs the North America R&D activities of Specialty Building Materials for GCP with the growth potential of this job rising to global level responsibilities; reports to the VP of R&D
Develops, directs, and coordinates operational and strategic research efforts in North America and eventually globally
Partners with senior business leaders and provides key input on the role and direction of research and development in strategic planning and implementation
Leads and manages research personnel within Specialty Building Materials
Coaches, mentors, and develops R&D personnel to achieve personal, department, and business goals
Directs resources for product development and product improvement by working closely with business partners across organizational functions, (i.e. Marketing, Sales, Technical service)
Technical gatekeeper in the stage gate product development process
Integral in the planning and prioritization of projects, programs, and initiatives to support departmental and organizational objectives
Prepares reports and presents progress of R&D to Senior Management and business partners
Champions R&D reporting personnel to foster, develop, and build relations with external committees, associations, and universities in the wider community and related industries
